About RSIC2025

The Programme

Programme details are still being finalised, but to give you an idea: The outline plan starts with arrivals to Dubai International Airport, and a transfer to The Millennium School on 19 September 2025 (delegations are requested to book flights to land before 2pm), followed by transfer to the Conference Hotels (IHG hotels by Dubai Festival City - school delegations will be in the same hotel), and an evening excursion into the desert for a Bedouin Camp themed dinner. On 20th the Opening Ceremony and first Baraza will be hosted at The Indian High School, and will be potentially be followed by an evening service activity before dinner at the hotel.

The next three days (21st to 23rd) will be a carousel including Service, Environmental and Adventure activities. The conference will split into three groups, and each group will rotate around the three days in a different order, with all delegations experiencing all three days.

Each day will begin with a Keynote and Baraza at one of the host schools before heading out to an activity. The timetable will be adjusted +3 hours to allow for high temperatures in the middle of the day. This means that the day will begin mid-morning, Keynotes and barazas will be indoors in the middle of the day, lunch around 3-4pm, activities will take place outside in the late afternoon and early evening as the temperature drops, and dinner/ supper will be served late into the evening.

On Service Day GEMS Modern Academy will host a programme of activities in which conference delegates will plan and lead activities working with differently abled students. On Adventure Day, The Indian High School will host us at an Adventure Park where delegates will take on team challenges, zip wires and high ropes. On Environmental Day, The Millennium School are exploring opportunities to take delegates out into the environment beyond the dunes to connect with nature, and consider some of the environmental challenges faced in a desert environment (this will be weather/ temperature dependent - details tbc). In the evenings of the carousel, activities will include a barbeque, a Round Square Souk and a cultural performance opportunity.

The final day, 24 September, is still to be determined, with consideration being given to potentially visiting Expo in carousel groups during the day. That evening the closing ceremony will be held in the ballroom back at our hotels, facilitating a smooth departure on 25 September.
